Both. TroopBase is built for Cub Scout packs (den and pack management, Cub advancement) and Scouts BSA troops (patrol method, merit badge tracking, rank advancement through Eagle). One app, works for your whole unit type.
Not quite — it replaces the frustrating parts. Scoutbook is still where official BSA records live, and TroopBase keeps it updated via two-way sync. Think of TroopBase as the app you actually want to use, with Scoutbook quietly staying accurate in the background.
That's part of what we're figuring out during development. The goal is that parents use a companion view (web or iOS), while Mac-using leaders get the full TroopBase experience. More to share as we get closer.
Pricing isn't locked in yet. We're thinking about what makes sense for volunteer-run organizations. Waitlist members will get early-access pricing when that's decided.
